DIY QueenofDisaster Jewelry Organizer

Hey y'all!

It's time to mix the posts up and do a DIY post! I love DIY! Whenever I do a DIY project, it always makes me so happy and giggly~ I'm someone where I can spend hours and hours doing DIY projects! When I was 10 or 11 years old, my dad bought me this really awesome beads collection and I become obsessed with it! I made tons of jewelry every single day and even considered selling some of them hahaa. Even now, I try to squeeze in one or two DIY projects every week no matter how busy I am. Anyways, let's move on to the actual DIY project~

I originally got this idea from watching several Youtube videos and after seeing them, I decided to do my own version of a jewelry organizer. Here are some pictures of my finished hanger jewelry organizer!

What do you think? I like it so much! I'm actually really glad I decided to make it because all my necklaces and earrings were getting all tangled due to being cramped into one tiny jewelry box. Now I don't have to waste a whole lot of time trying to untangle my jewelry to find a necklace or a pair of earrings to suit my outfit on a particular day!

Make Your Own DIY Jewelry Organizer

I thought you might want to make your own jewelry organizer just because they're so much fun to make and you can even give it to a friend as a gift! You can also personalize it and make it your own! So here the materials you'll need to make your own jewelry organizer:

Materials:

♥   A wooden hanger
♥   ~18 push pins
♥   2 2 feet cloth (60.96 cm)
♥   A hammer or super glue
♥   Pliers
♥   Acrylic paint (colors of your choice)
♥   Sewing machine or fabric glue
♥   Embellishments such as ribbons, rhinestones, and etc. (optional)

Directions:

1. Use the acrylic paint and paint the hanger. Feel free to use a combination of colors to create a unique design on the hanger. I decided to paint my whole hanger black.

2. Now we're going to attach the push pins to the hanger (see picture below). These push pins will act as "hangers" to hang your necklaces and such. So to attach these push pins, you have two options:

         a) Use a hammer and hammer the push pins directly to the hanger itself.
You might want to do this on the floor or some kind of hard surface.
Also, watch out for your fingers! Try to use pliers to hold the push
pin in place while hammering it onto the hanger. Place each push
pin 1-inch apart unless you have some really large necklaces. Then
you might want to adjust the spacing accordingly.

         b) Instead of using a hammer, use can also your pliers to take out the
thumb tacks attached to the push pins. Then attach this part of the
push pin to the hanger by using squeezing a drop of super glue onto
the push pin and put it onto hanger. This method is easier than the
first one and saves you the pain of having to hammer each pin
individually. However, the push pin might not stick to the hanger
after a while (and so you'll need to reglue the piece again) and you
can't put any heavy necklaces on the push pin or the pin will detach
itself from the hanger. Also place each push pin 1-inch apart.

2. Now sew the two cloths together on where I indicated in the diagram below (in the red dotted lines). If you don't want to sew, you can also use some good old fabric glue and glue the two cloths together on the same place as indicated by the diagram below. Follow steps A and B as shown below.

         A) Hem all four sides on cloth by either using a machine or hand sewing.
Either one will work fine. This will prevent your fabric from fraying
from long periods of use. If you DON'T want to hem, you can always
do a little bit of magic and use fabric glue instead. On one side of
the fabric, fold in 1/2 inch on the fabric and put glue on this part.
Make sure the glue is on the side you don't want to show to people.
Do the same thing with all four sides of the fabric. Repeat this step
              with the other cloth.

         B) Now you will attach the two cloths together! Sew/glue the two parts
as shown below in the red dotted lines. Make sure to flip the cloth
inside out once you're finished gluing! This will prevent people
from seeing the seams/glue marks you've made in the cloth. When
you've attached the two clothes together, there should a large
opening or hole in between the two clothes. This will help you
secure your earrings when you attach them to the cloth.

3) Now's the fun part! Decorating time! If you decided to use any embellishments on your hanger, attach them now! You can put them anywhere you like. Add some ribbons and/or rhinestones for a more girly look. If you want an edgier look, add some black lace and anything else you see fit. Most importantly, have fun with this part!

I added some rhinestones to decorate my hanger

4) Now's the second fun part! It's time to hang your necklaces on the push pins and put your earrings on the other side of the cloth. The pictures in the beginning show this final step so please take a look at them if you can! Also, the picture below shows what the necklaces look like after being hanged on the push pins:

Finished look

So I hope you'll have tons of fun making your own jewelry organizer! It's super easy to make and you'll never have to deal with untangling your necklaces and accessories again! If you have any questions about any of my instructions, please let me know in the comments below! I'll try to clarify my instructions to the best of my ability. Also, if you decided to make your own jewelry hanger organizer after reading this post, please take a picture of it and post it below. I would love to see your own individualized hanger!

See you next time,
